There are 02 PGR’s of FCPS-II Chemical Pathology,        Dr. Lubna Falak and Dr. Mehvish Sana and two PGR’s of MCPS Pathology, Dr. Shumaila Raees and Dr. Umm-e-Farwa and one Senior Medical Technologist Mr. Muhammad Ali Malik one Medical Technologist Miss Rabiya Mehmood and one Biochemist Miss Razia Hussain. Chemical Pathology division has taken up the challenge to make the details of clinical chemistry accessible and understandable through organizing comprehensive training programs for undergraduate and postgraduate trainees and equipping the laboratory with the latest automated analyzers and electronic instruments.

Chemical Pathology is a discipline of Pathology which has maximum workload of diagnostic laboratory tests pertaining to the diagnosis of the diseases. The workup in the section is not only helpful to the clinicians but is also very essential for the medical students to understand the pathophysiology of various diseases for the undergraduate & postgraduate medical students. The department has been recognized for FCPS-II training by CPSP and MCPS too.

The department is facilitated by modern technical instrument like Beckman Coulter AU480, (automatic chemistry analyzer) on which routine chemistry tests are performed with through put of 800 tests/hour and with high sensitivity and accuracy. There are two Hormone Analyzers to carry out estimation of hormones and tumor markers. All these latest and updated instruments have been installed in this department due to the tireless efforts of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rehman. These play a vital role in both the academic and research fields with the availability of such advanced equipments it has become possible to diagnose/confirm most of the diseases in shortest possible time. The clinicians and researchers can make best use of such facilities.

The practical work carried out in the laboratory and the ongoing teaching programs in this discipline are not only for the education of those getting training in clinical laboratory as professionals but also for the continuing education of those who wish to acquire specific expertise and recognition. This department also plays vital part in carrying out the various research projects of not only the postgraduate trainee/consultant/specialist also hosts the allied health sciences students and currently five medical lab technology trainees are also carrying out their research under supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rehman Assistant Professor Dr. Sabahat Tariq. Certainly this serves an extensive understanding of our present and future scientific, technological, and organizational development.
