In view of prevailing tragic and disastrous flood situation in Rahim Yar Khan, Principal of SZMC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed has cancelled all kinds of leaves including summer vacations of Academic & Non-Academic staff of Sheikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital Rahim Yar Khan. All the Academic & Non-Academic staff on-leave are hereby directed to resume their duties with immediate effect with report to Principal office/Medical Superintendent office. |

Flood relief activities started |

Sheikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital has organized a large number of medical teams comprising of Physicians, Surgeons, Male & Female doctors and Paramedical Staff, for the treatment of flood-hit population in district Rahim Yar Khan & District Rajanpur. These medical teams will start working from today day & night for the ailing humanity in flood areas. This was decided in a meeting of Academic Council held on today, presided by the Principal SZMC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed.
Addressing to the Professors of Academic Council, he said that today four medical teams with all medicine and ambulances have been sent to the flood affected areas. The other medical teams are being managed to send in next days till the relief of flood victims.

Principal’s Flood Relief Fund has been established in Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar Khan for the help of flood-hit population of District Rahim Yar Khan and District Rajanpur. He has constituted a committee, headed by Dr. Anwar Rehan (Anaesthetist) for collection of donations for flood relief work. Principal has appealed to all the doctors, paramedics and philanthropist to donate generously for flood relief camps. |

Condolence on demise of Ch. Rasheed Ahmed |

Principal and teaching staff of SZMC expressed the profound grief and sorrow at the sudden demise of Ch. Rasheed Ahmed on 2nd August 2010 (Inna Lillahe wa Inna Elayhi Raajeoon). May Allah bestow the best of “Jannah” upon the departed soul and provide his family and friends with “Sabar-e-Jamil” to bear this eternal lost AMEEN. Late Ch. Rasheed Ahmed offered his services for Sheikh Zayed Medical College /Hospital Rahim Yar Khan as member of Board of Governor from 30.09.2002 to 26.10.2003 and also Senior member of Board of Management from 27.10.2003 upto date. He presided many meetings of BOM as Acting Chairman and offered a lot of proposals for the better progress and management of the Medical Complex. |

Addressing the faculty members, Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed said that the services of both Professors in teaching will be remembered for ever as milestone in the history of this college. In their guidance college has progressed a lot academically, he added. On next day, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology also arranged a dinner with Ghazal program in the honor of these two Retired Professors. |

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed Principal of Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahim Yar Khan is elected a member of Pakistan Medical Dental Council in a meeting held here on 02-05-2010. A maximum number of teaching faculties' member of SZMC attended this meeting. He was nominated by Prof. Dr. Abdul karim and no opposed him. Prof. Dr. Sayed Muhammad Owais was the election commissioner from PMDC Islamabad and he approved the name of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed as representative of SZMC Rahim Yar Khan for PMDC Council. |

Chairman of CPSP inspection team Prof. Tariq Mehmood Khan DGIR & Registrar CPSP Karachi along with delegation of 13 Professors of different medical College all over the Pakistan visited Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Rahim Yar Khan on 24-04-2010. The team did inspection and got information about medical facilities available in 13 medical faculties of SZMC such as Cardiology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Diagnostic Radiology, Psychiatry, Chemical Pathology, Histopathology, Hematology, Anatomy, Biochemistry and Forensic medicine. The team will present the report to CPSP council for recognition of these departments for training of MCPS and FCPS trainees.. |

The First Convocation 2010 of Sheikh Zayed Medical College was Held on 3rd march 2010. The Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif honoured this auspicious occasion as the chief guest, Vice Chancellor of UHS Prof. Malik Hussain Mubbashar and Secretary Health Punjab Mr. Fawad Hassan Fawad joined as the distinguished guest. The Chairman Board of Management Ch. Muhammad Munir with members, the faculty members of SZMC, the dignitaries of the City Rahim Yar Khan, fresh graduate with their parents and medical students of this college were also present at this occasion. Chief Minister Punjab conferred awards to the fresh graduates and medical students position holders of this college and Vice Chancellor of UHS distributed the degrees to the fresh graduates of SZMC and Chief . Chief Minister Punjab also conferred shields to Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed SZMC/SZH, Prof Dr. Eice Mohammad (Ex-Principal SZMC), Chairman Board of Management Ch. Press conference was held under the chairmanship of Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saeed. In this conference the principal SZMC/SZH expressed the progress of medical college, hospital and medical staff. Sheikh Zayed hospital Rahim Yar Khan is 741 bedded teaching hospital with average daily OPD patients turn out of 3500 and average daily indoor admission of 350 patients with almost 100% bed occupancy in stead of medical & paramedical staff lacking. SZH provides the free medicine in emergency, emergency ward, out door and Operation Theater. Fully air conditioned new Emergency department of 140 beds, Angiography department, MRI department and hostels are under construction. SZMC got 2nd position in third MBBS professional and in final year MBBS students of SZMC obtained 6 distinctions in pediatrics although the students that is in last merit come in the SZMC. The principal SZMC/SZH also told that there are two water filter plants not only for patients of the hospital as well as the residential of medical colony are also takes the benefit of this facility |

The honorable Chief Minister Punjab, Main Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif paid surprise Visit to Sheikh Zayed Medical college / Hospital Rahim Yar Khan on 13-12-2009,visted orthopedic ward & dialysis unit of the hospital and announced grant of Rs.1,00,000/- for one patient and Rs.50,000/- for two patients each in orthopedic ward. The cheques of the said amount have been distributed by D.C.O. Rahim Yar Khan to patients on 20-12-2009, in the presence of Principal SZMC/SZH and Medical Superintendent SZH. |
